LITURGY/PRAYER

Melrose — The Knights of Columbus of Albia sponsor a 24-hour adoration the first Friday of the month at St. Patrick Church in Melrose. Mass begins at 8 a.m., followed by 24 hours of adoration, and closes with benediction at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. For more information or to sign up for an hour, call Tony Humeston at (641) 932-7709.

MEETINGS

Moline, Ill. — An activity planning meeting for Quad Cities Catholic Singles, formerly Catholic Singles of the Quad Cities, will take place Jan. 31 at 10:30 a.m. at Panera Bread. SOCIALS

Camanche — A fundraising breakfast will take place Sunday, Feb. 1, from 7:30 a.m. to noon in Church of the Visitation’s hall. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for those 5 and younger. Menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, coffee, milk and juice. Proceeds will go toward the building fund.

Davenport — A Boy Scout pancake breakfast will take place Sunday, Feb. 1, from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Denning Hall, St. Paul the Apostle Church.

Grand Mound — A pancake breakfast will take place in Ss. Philip and James’ parish hall from 8-11 a.m. Feb. 1.

Iowa City — Regina Catholic Education Center’s Jukebox Jubilee, in celebration of the schools’ 50th anniversary, will take place Saturday, Jan. 24, from 7-10 p.m. in Regina’s Leonard & Margaret Pacha Nutrition Center. A DJ will provide music from the 1950s, ‘60s, ‘70s and more. Freewill offerings will be accepted. All ages are welcome.

Muscatine — A pasta dinner to benefit Tom and Thelma Ely will take place Jan. 24 from 4:30-7 p.m. in Gannon Hall. Menu includes penne pasta, salad, bread and dessert. Freewill offerings will be accepted. The event will also include a raffle, auction and bake sale.

Muscatine — A soup supper will take place at Bishop Hayes Catholic School Jan. 27 from 5-7 p.m. Menu includes homemade chili, potato soup, cookies and hot dogs. Proceeds will benefit students planning to attend the 2009 National Catholic Youth Conference.
