DEWITT — St. Joseph Parish will honor Sister Theresa Ann Spitz, RSM, pastoral associate, as she celebrates the 60th anniversary of her acceptance into the Sisters of Mercy. She will be honored at 10:30 a.m. Mass and at a reception in the parish hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Sr. Spitz has taught science, math and religion at St. Joseph School. She has also helped coordinate the area CROP Walk for the past 11 years, and acted as a spiritual advisor for Christian Experience Weekend (CEW) retreats in DeWitt, Sugar Creek, Clinton, Davenport, Long Grove and Bettendorf for 20 years. She also has served on teams for Quest and COR retreats for high school students.
