Clinton — Prince of Peace Parish will dedicate its new church, 1105 LaMetta Wynn Drive, at 10:30 a.m. March 14.
Clinton — The Sisters of St. Francis invite the public to join them at Vespers — evening prayer — on Sundays during Lent at The Canticle, 841 13th Ave. N. The 40-minute prayer services will begin at 6 p.m. Vespers are composed of Scripture readings, hymns, psalms, reflection and prayer.
Clinton — Prince of Peace Parish will offer a Lenten series of weekly presentations and discussions dubbed “Peace Soup” on Wednesdays through April 1 in St. Boniface Hall. The evenings will begin at 6 p.m. with a light soup supper and end by 8:30 p.m. On March 18, Robert Gronski, Ph.D., federal and regional policy coordinator for the National Catholic Rural Life Conference, Des Moines, will lead a presentation on “Caring for Creation: Living with Climate Change.”
Pella — St. Mary Parish will offer a Lenten Journey that will reflect the life of St. Paul. Sister Laura Goedken, OP, director of development for the Diocese of Davenport, will lead the journey Thursday evenings March 12, 26 and April 2 from 7-7:45 p.m. Discussion and fellowship follows.
Tipton — St. Mary Parish will host its third annual women’s retreat April 4 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Mary Hall. Sister Ramona Kaal-berg, coordinator of formation for the Sisters of the Humility of Mary, will speak. Early registration is due March 15 for $25. After March 15, the cost is $30. Clinton — A dinner to benefit La Virgen Pura y Limpia Parish in Peru will take place March 21 at Rastrelli Banquet Center. The gathering will begin at 5:30 p.m., entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $25 for adults and $10 for children. Delmar — St. Patrick Parish will host a social and polka Mass March 15. Mass will begin at 11 a.m. in the church with music by The Sieverdings. Soup and sandwiches will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Grossman Hall. A 50/50 raffle and bingo will take place.
Iowa City — St. Patrick Parish will host a St. Patrick’s Day party March 14 at Regina High School’s gym and cafeteria. Irish music begins at 3:45 p.m.; Mass begins at 4:30 p.m. Food and Irish dancing will follow.
Moline, Ill. — A fundraiser for Humility of Mary Housing, Inc., will take place Thursday, March 12, when the comedy “Murder at the Howard Johnson’s” is performed at Playcrafters Barn Theatre in Moline.
