Second grade tackles various challenges

Second-graders entertained several classes with their Thanksgiving play.

“The second-graders have been busy preparing to receive first reconciliation at the end of March,” said Lindsey Kraushaar, second-grade teacher. “We have also begun learning about the different parts of the Mass in preparation for first holy Eucharist in May. In science, we completed our first research ‘paper’ on dinosaurs.

“The students researched a dinosaur of their choosing on an online encyclopedia and in books. Then they used the information they found to write a paragraph or two about their dinosaur. Finally, they located a picture of their dinosaur and created a cover for their research paper. The reports turned out great and the second-graders are ready to begin their next challenge — writing biographies.”
