Sr. Margaret Younger dies

Sister Margaret Younger (Agnelda), SSSF, who served in the Diocese of Davenport, died Feb. 11 at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport, Wis. She was 94.

Born in Marienthal, Kan., she was received into the School Sisters of St. Francis on June 12, 1930, and made first profession of vows Aug. 21, 1932, and final (perpetual) vows Aug. 11, 1938.

During her religious ministry, Sr. Younger served as a homemaker, baker and rosary maker in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska and South Dakota. In the Diocese of Davenport she served as a homemaker at St. Joseph Convent in Davenport from 1939-40, St. James Convent in St. Paul from 1940-46 and Eastside Neighborhood Development Corporation from 1974-78.

A wake and funeral Mass took place Feb. 18 at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport. Interment followed at Sisters’ Cemetery in Campbellsport, Wis.
