LITURGY/PRAYER

Clinton — The Sisters of St. Francis invite the public to join them at Vespers — evening prayer — on Sundays during Lent at The Canticle, 841 13th Ave. N. The 40-minute prayer services will begin at 6 p.m. Vespers are composed of Scripture readings, hymns, psalms, reflection and prayer.

Davenport — A healing Mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 19, at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Confessions begin at 6 p.m.; praise music begins at 6:45 p.m., and Mass begins at 7:15 p.m.

MEETINGS

Davenport — The History of the Liturgy, a five-part series by Deacon Frank Agnoli, director of liturgy and deacon formation for the Diocese of Davenport, will be held on Fridays during Lent at Our Lady of Victory Parish. A soup supper begins at 6:30 p.m. in the parish center and the program begins at 7:15 p.m. in the parish center or media room.

Wilton — St. Mary Parish is hosting a 13-week, Scripture-based  bereavement program, GriefShare, on Sundays through April 5 from 6:30-8 p.m. All are welcome to each session. For more information, call John Lyons at (563) 349-0920.

RETREATS

Tipton — St. Mary Parish will host its third annual women’s retreat April 4 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Mary Hall. Sister Ramona Kaal-berg, coordinator of formation for the Sisters of the Humility of Mary, will speak.  Registration is $30. For more information, contact Maureen Bowie at (563) 886-6347 or e-mail tiptonsm@netwtc.net.

SOCIALS

Albia — Lenten luncheons will take place at St. Mary Parish from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Freewill donations will be accepted. Proceeds go to Albia Ministerial Association and Ottumwa Crisis Center & Women’s Shelter.

Camanche — Soup suppers take place at 6 p.m. Wednesdays during Lent at Church of the Visitation, followed by the rosary at 6:45 p.m. and Stations of the Cross at 7 p.m.

Long Grove — St. Ann Parish will host a trivia night April 17 as a fundraiser for Catholic youths. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; trivia begins at 7 p.m. Cost is $80 per table or $10 per person. Call (563) 285-4596 to register. Bring your own snacks; drinks can be purchased at the event.
