DAVENPORT — A drawing by Amy Le, a student at All Saints Catholic School, won first prize in the Quad-City Area Realtor Association Fair Housing poster contest.

Amy’s poster shows a diverse group of children playing outside together in a variety of activities. The drawing demonstrates how diverse groups of people can be friends.

The contest was open to all fifth-grade students in the Quad-City region. Classes discussed the importance of fair housing and the benefits of a true community mentality in a neighborhood. Entries were submitted by Davenport and Bettendorf schools in Iowa and Silvis, Moline and Geneseo schools in Illinois.

For her winning entry, Amy received a framed copy of her artwork and a commemorative plaque. All Saints received a check for $300. Amy’s class also will receive a pizza party, said Tammy Conrad, principal at All Saints.
