Davenport — A half-day, silent retreat including two Centering Prayer sessions, a silent break and Lectio Divina  will take place from 9:30-11:30 a.m. June 13 at the Humility of Mary Center.

Davenport — A healing Mass will be celebrated June 18 at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 10th and Iowa streets. The theme will be healing of marriages and families. Confessions begin at 6 p.m.; praise music begins at 6:45 p.m. and Mass begins at 7:15 p.m.

Fort Madison — A Corpus Christi procession will take place after 4 p.m. Mass June 13 at Sacred Heart Church. A fish fry will follow in Roling Hall.

Lost Nation — Msgr. Marvin Mottet will preside at a healing Mass at Sacred Heart Church June 19. Reconciliation will begin at 6 p.m.; praise music will begin at 6:30 p.m., and Mass will begin at 7 p.m.

Muscatine — Ss. Mary & Mathias Parish will host a Corpus Christi procession June 14 after 11:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mathias Church. Refreshments will follow.

Sugar Creek — Ss. Mary & Joseph Parish will host a Corpus Christi Mass and procession June 13 at 4:30 p.m. It will take place at St. Joseph Church, 3218 110th St., Preston. Dinner will follow at the parish hall.


Davenport — A workshop for laity in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite (the “Latin Mass”) will be held Saturday, June 13, at St. Anthony Church. The workshop will be led by Father Scott Haynes, a priest of the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius in Chicago. The event is from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and costs $10 for students, $20 for individuals and $50 for families. For registration, see www.unavoceqc.



Wheatland — “Knit One, Pray Too,” a day of knitting, fellowship and prayer, will take place at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat near Wheatland on Tuesday, June 9, from 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Participants should bring size 11 or 13 knitting needles, three six-ounce skeins of yarn or a project in progress. Camanche — A Relay for Life fundraising breakfast will take place in Church of the Visitation’s hall June 7 from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $6 per adult, $3 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and younger.

Clinton — Prince of Peace schools’ 15th annual Sunset Social fundraiser will take place June 5 from 5-9 p.m. at the Clinton Country Club. Tickets are $35. A total of $33,900 in cash prizes will be awarded through the Pot O’ Blue & Gold Raffle. Raffle tickets cost $50, and up to five people can be listed on a ticket. Hills — St. Joseph Church will host a farmers’ market every Saturday beginning June 6 from 8 a.m. to noon in the church parking lot. Vendors may call (319) 679-2271 to reserve a space. No fee is required, but donations are appreciated.

Iowa City — A “Kiss the Pig Hoedown” for St. Patrick Parish will take place from 6-8 p.m. June 13 across the street from the site of the new church, 4330 St. Patrick’s Drive, off Lower West Branch Road. Father Rudolph Juarez, pastor, will kiss a pig as the culmination of a youth fundraiser. A barbecue meal will cost $5 per person. Country music, kids games and photo opportunities will be available for free.

LeClaire — Our Lady of the River Church will host a garage sale June 11 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., June 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and June 13 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Ottumwa — The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Patrick Parish is sponsoring a Quilt and Handiwork Show on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. and Sunday, June 7, 9–11 a.m.  There will be a raffle for a hand-stitched quilt and cash prizes.  Baked goods will be available as well as sandwiches, chips and beverages.
