The following retreats are being offered at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat in Wheatland:

• Come to the Quiet: Summer or Autumn Silent Retreat Day, Tuesday, June 16, 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Fee is $10 and includes lunch. Enjoy the beauty and silence of a summer or autumn day at The Prairie. Pray, meditate, read, walk or just sit in the quiet beauty. This day is yours but the time includes short opening and closing prayers together. Sessions with a spiritual director are available (separate fee paid directly to the director).

• Walking for your spirit, Thursday, June 18, 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Presenters are Lisa Martin Bellomy and Sister Joan Sheil, CHM. Fee: $15, which includes lunch. Discover that walking can lead to inner peace, mental focus and spiritual awareness. After a short warm-up participants will walk and explore The Prairie trails as a group. Following a healthy lunch break, participants may enjoy a personal journey walking the labyrinth or hiking.

Bellomy has been a nature hiker since her days hunting mushrooms with her dad and once backpacked in the Grand Canyon. She is communications director for the Sisters of Humility. Sr. Sheil, an archivist of the Sisters of Humility and retired library director at the former Marycrest College, is an avid bird watcher and seasoned Rocky Mountain hiker.
