Margaret McArtor, age 83, of Keota, died Friday, July 31, 2009, at Maplewood Manor in Keota.

Margaret was born Feb. 11, 1926 in Keokuk County, Iowa, to John and Catherine (Redlinger) Adrian and attended Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic School. On Dec. 29, 1956, she married Vaughn McArtor at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek Township. A lifelong resident of the Clear Creek community, she was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and the Altar and Rosary Society. Margaret enjoyed cooking, praying and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include two sons: Larry McArtor and wife Brenda of Keota and Tom Armstrong and partner Steve Armstrong of Mt. Pleasant; two granddaughters: Jamie Hall and husband Chris and Kylie McArtor and two great grandchildren: Kaden and Delaney Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Vaughn in 2001; one infant grandson and four brothers: Clarence, Lawrence, Howard and Leonard Adrian.

A memorial Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Holy Trinity Parish – St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with Rev. Robert Harness officiating. Burial was at Holy Trinity Cemeteries – Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota.
