Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Norine Alam, 93, a resident of Davenport were Oct. 16, 2009 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 916 E. Rusholme, Davenport.

Burial was in Holy Family Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation was Thursday at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be in the gathering space Friday at the church from 9:45 a.m. until the time of the service.

Alam died on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, in Davenport.

Norine Korey was born April 21, 1916 in Davenport, a daughter of George and Mary (Allam) Korey. She was united in marriage to Kayed “Frenchy” Alam on Sept. 10, 1961 in Denver. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1986.

In earlier years Norine had been employed at the former Louis Hanson Hardware.

Survivors include her sister, Josephine Korey, of Davenport; and nieces, Mary Korey, Davenport and Barbara (Mrs. Joseph) Butler, Cedar Falls, Iowa; as well as several grand nieces and grand nephews.
