Sister Kathleen Gilbert, BVM (Kathleena), 91, died Oct. 6 at Marian Hall, Dubuque. Burial was in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Dubuque.
In the Davenport Diocese, Sr. Gilbert was a secondary school teacher at Immaculate Conception Academy in Davenport, 1942-45, and Our Lady of Angels in Clinton, 1945-48. She also taught in Kansas, Illinois, California and Missouri. She served as an academic advisor at the University of Notre Dame, 1986-97.
Sr. Gilbert entered the BVM congregation on Sept. 8, 1939. She professed first vows on March 19, 1942, and final vows on Aug. 15, 1947.
She was born in Chicago on Feb. 11, 1918.
