Shoes, shoes, and more shoes is the buzz in fourth grade at All Saints Catholic School in Davenport.

For the past six years or so, the fourth grade has always been busy this time of year with shoes. The fourth-graders collect used shoes during October and November.

These shoes must still have some wear and tear left to them. The students will also take new pairs of socks. They used to do this project in unison with a couple of shoe-repair businesses. Now the school is working with Hayes Shoes Care & Repair in Davenport, which is collecting shoes at its 223 W. Fourth St. and 1826 Iowa St. locations.

Shoes also will be distributed to people in need at such places as the Salvation Army and  Friendly House in Davenport. To donate, drop off shoes at the school office on Marquette Street.
