Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Bridigia M. Gomez, 89, of Davenport will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. 

Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport with a prayer service offered at 4 p.m.  Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Mrs. Gomez passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Bridigia Magana was born on Feb. 13, 1920 in Brownsville, Texas, a daughter of Joe and Mary (Flores) Magana. She was united in marriage to Richard Vasquez.  He preceded her in death. Bridigia was later united in marriage to Efren P. Gomez in 1948 in Kansas City. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2008.

Bridigia was primarily a homemaker, helping to raise her children and providing a wonderful home for her family. She enjoyed dancing and crafting patchwork quilts.

Those left to honor her memory include daughters Ofelia “Ofie” Gomez, Racquel Gomez, both of Davenport, Celine Garrett and her friend Karl, Baytown, Texas; son Raymond Gomez and his wife Ann, Davenport; grandchildren Richard, Sara, Sabrina, Amanda, Jeremy, Brandi, Joshua, and Kristie; great grandchildren Isiah, Ray, Savannah, Emma, Ahlexia, Lailah, Gracie and Katlynn; and many nieces and nephews.
