Sr. Keefe dies

A native of Clinton, Sister Margaret Keefe, BVM (Paul Leone), 80, died Nov. 22 at Marian Hall, Dubuque. Burial is in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

In the Diocese of Davenport, Sr. Keefe attended St. Mary elementary and high schools in Clinton, graduating in May 1947. She entered the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary congregation from St. Mary Parish in Clinton on Sep. 8, 1947.

In Davenport, she was an educator at St. Paul the Apostle, 1950; Sacred Heart, 1960-64; and Assumption High School, 1974-81. She taught at St. Ireneaus in Clinton, 1968-70. She worked as a pastoral care secretary at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, 1981-95.

She also taught in other areas of eastern Iowa and in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born Sep. 1, 1929. Date of first profession was March 19, 1950 and date of final vows was Aug. 15, 1955.
