Larry G. Tinnes, 64, of rural Ollie, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at his home. Larry was born April 24, 1945, in Washington to August and Pearl (Thompson) Tinnes and attended Keota schools.

Larry served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 ½ years before retiring as a Master Sergeant. On February 14, 1980, he married Hannelore Holderied in Papillion, Neb. The couple moved to the Ollie area in 1990. Larry was currently working as a specialist for Varian Medical Systems. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife: Hannelore of rural Ollie; four daughters: Lorraine (Michael) Uber of Ohio, Sandra (Brent) Livingston of Nebraska, Andrea (Kenneth) Booze of Nebraska and Christene Tinnes of Ohio; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Leroy, Dennis and Herbert Dean in infancy.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, with Fathers Charles Fladung and Philip Ryan officiating. Burial will be at Talleyrand Cemetery in rural Keota. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney, where the family will be present from 4-6 p.m. A wake service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Keokuk County Hospice or St. Mary Catholic Church.
