Religious items sought for troops

People are invited to send religious items to soldiers in Afghanistan. “There has been a strong demand for scapulars — many soldiers here are re-discovering or learning anew their value for protection and having a sense of a dedication in wearing a scapular,” said Father William Kneemiller. He is a priest of the Davenport Diocese who has been serving in Afghanistan as a chaplain.

He also is starting a library of inspirational DVDs and films on saints for the soldiers. “I’m encouraging the soldiers to integrate faith with their down time, and this is a great way to do it,” he said. Ignatius Press online, Religious Supply Center in Davenport, and Vision Video online are recommended resources. Send items to CH (CPT) William Kneemiller,  649th RSG- KAF, APO AE 09355.
