A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas M. Knaggs, 74, a resident of Davenport was Thursday, Jan 7, 2010 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Davenport.

In keeping with Tom’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Tom died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 at his residence after an extended illness. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Thomas Murray Knaggs was born Feb. 8, 1935, in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of Murray and Lois (Wilson) Knaggs.  Tom proudly served our country during the Korean War, in the U.S. Marines. In 1957 Tom married Monica Finnigan in Buffalo, N.Y. He had worked for Sivyer Steal, Bettendorf, retiring in 2000 after 21 years of service.

Survivors include his wife Monica, Bradenton, Florida and their children, two daughters, Dolores “Lorrie” Adamson, and Monica (Bruce) Warner, Davenport; two sons, Lawrence Knaggs, of California and Timothy (Dusty) Knaggs, Morrison, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and one great grandson.

His parents, a sister, Joyce Stafford and a brother, William, preceded Tom in death.
