Bettendorf — A candlelight vigil will take place at the pro-life Women’s Choice Center, 2711 Happy Joe Drive, Bettendorf on Friday, Jan. 22. This event is for people of all faiths. For those who desire, there will be a rosary at the WCC before the event at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., there will be a program inside Heritage Church behind the center. At 8 p.m., there will be a prayer service outside the abortion clinic. At 8:15 p.m., refreshments will be served inside the Women’s Choice Center.
Davenport — The Sisters of Humility invite the general public to pray with them at 11:40 a.m. Wednesdays during a special Mass for peace. It will be celebrated in the Magnificat Chapel at the Humility of Mary Center, 820 W. Central Park Ave.
Davenport — A healing Mass will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 15 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 10th and Iowa streets. Confessions begin at 6 p.m., praise music at 6:30 p.m. and Mass at 7:15 p.m. All are welcome.
Iowa City — People meet to pray the rosary and receive Communion at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at Melrose Meadows Retirement Community. All Catholics are welcome.

Melrose — The Knights of Columbus of Albia sponsor a 24-hour adoration the first Friday of the month at St. Patrick Church in Melrose. Davenport — St. Ambrose University will be celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Jan. 18 from 1:15 to 10 p.m. with a gospel choir, a people’s march, dinner, screening of Spike Lee’s film “Bamboozled,” and presentation by Msgr. Grand Mound — Ss. Philip & James Parish will hold a soup supper Sunday, Jan. 24, from 4-7 p.m. Menu includes all-you-can-eat chili and chicken noodle soup with cornbread and desserts. A bake sale will feature homemade treats. Cost is $6 for adults and $2.50 for children younger than 12.
