Evening to benefit Oxford, Cosgrove parish youths

OXFORD — The youth group of St. Mary Parish in Oxford and St. Peter Parish in Cosgrove will present St. Patrick’s and St. Joseph’s Night March 20 at St. Mary’s Auditorium, 133 E. Main St. Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. in the auditorium. From 5-7 p.m., an Irish meal with corned beef and cabbage or a chicken breast and ham dinner will be served. Cost is $10 for adults, $7 for students in grades seven to 12, $5 for students in kindergarten to sixth grade, and free for children 4 and younger.

At 6:30 p.m., a Euchre tournament will take place. Cost to enter is $10 per person. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. From 6:30-9 p.m., food and a cash bar will be available. From 6:30-8 p.m., there will be children’s games and a coloring contest.

The evening also will feature the opportunity to free the “jail birds” — Father Ed Dunn, Deacon David Montgomery and parish council members. A suggested donation of $25 will give the jail birds bread and water for the night. Other donations will be appreciated.  Visit the jail birds from 5-8 p.m.
