Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia O’Malley, 83, will be noon Saturday, March 20, 2010, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:30-11:45 a.m. on Saturday at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.

Miss O’Malley died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at her residence at Silvercrest at Garner Farms, Davenport, after a sudden illness.

Mary Patricia O’Malley was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Davenport, the daughter of William J. and Anne (Walsh) O’Malley.  She graduated from high school at Villa de Chantal, Rock Island, Ill.

She received her BA in education from Marycrest College, Davenport, and attended Western Illinois University and the University of Iowa.  Her teaching career extended over 38 years.  She taught at the Villa de Chantal and for the Davenport Community School District. She retired in 1990.

She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Davenport.

Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Building Fund or your favorite charity.

Survivors include her sister, Anne Ocar, Overland Park, Kan.; nieces and nephews, Debbie Bayer (Terry), Overland Park, Jane Miller (John), Davenport, Claire Schneider (Ted), Eldridge, Brian O’Malley (Melissa), St. Charles, Ill., Brent O’Malley (Joyce Briggs), Woodhull, Ill., David Ocar and Douglas Ocar (Beth), all of Minneapolis; many great-nieces and nephews; and a sister in law, Lois Suiter-O’Malley, Davenport.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marilyn O’Malley, Sr., brother, William O’Malley, nephew, Robert O’Malley Jr., and a niece, Christine Ocar. May they rest in peace.
