Sister Marcia Kearney (Sister Mary Marcia), 86, died March 1, at Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston. A memorial service was scheduled March 9 at the Humility of Mary Center, Magnificat Chapel in Davenport. Burial was to be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Albia.
Mary Katherine Kearney was born on Aug. 18, 1923, in Weller. She entered the Congregation of the Humility of Mary on Jan. 6, 1950, and professed vows on July 19, 1952. She attended Ottumwa Heights College, Ottumwa. For 12 years she was a house mother for teenage boys at St. Vincent Home, Davenport. She was the manager of kitchen and food service at St. Vincent Center, serving priests and bishops for 14 years. She returned to Humility of Mary Center, Davenport, in 1995 and moved to Bishop Drumm Center in 2006.
