Sister Mary Carola Broderick, BVM, 74, who previously taught in the Davenport Diocese, died March 22 in Des Moines. Burial was to be in Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Sr. Broderick was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Des Moines. She entered the BVM congregation on Sept. 8, 1955, from Holy Trinity Parish in Des Moines. She professed first vows on Feb. 3, 1958, and final vows on July 16, 1963.
Sr. Broderick taught ninth grade at Assumption High School in Davenport from 1962–69. She also taught in Des Moines and West Des Moines, Berwyn, Ill., and Seattle. She was a hospital chaplain and served in campus ministry in Des Moines from 1987–2008.
