Immigration was the hot button issue in the April 29 Catholic Messenger. Some of the statements made by Father Rudolph Juarez were over the top regarding the Arizona immigration law. (Did he read the bill?)
It is time that church officials support the laws of our country. When will church officials understand that most people want our borders protected, and an end to illegal immigration? We also want our children to be protected from predatory nuns, priests and bishops. Our church leaders ignored civil and church law, too, and we who obey our civil and church laws are paying a heavy price monetarily and as a faith community.
