Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Alice E. Koch, 89, a resident of Davenport will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 417 Main St., downtown Davenport.

Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be Tuesday at the Halligan – McCabe – DeVries Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. There will be a prayer service and celebration of life service Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home that all are invited to attend. Mrs. Koch died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Ridgecrest Village in Davenport.

Alice Elizabeth Neumann was born Feb. 14, 1921 in Davenport a daughter of Albert and Mary Irene (Cannon) Neumann. She graduated from the former Davenport High School. 

Alice was united in marriage to William Wallace Koch on April 30, 1947 in Davenport. Bill preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1981.

After raising her family, she served as a bookkeeper at Beyer & Company Investments for many years.

She was a member of St. Anthony’s, a former member of Holy Family, and served on the Mercy Hospital Auxillary “Pink Ladies.” She had been an avid golfer and bowler; enjoyed playing in various “card clubs” over the years, and playing bingo.

Memorials can be made to Assumption High School or to the church.

Survivors include daughters and a son-in-law, Jill Koch, Davenport and Teresa and James Boyd, Des Moines, Iowa; sons, William “Bill” and Susan Koch,  Concord, California, Stephen Koch, Davenport and Mark and Pam Koch, Concord, California; grandchildren, Allison (Troy) Neves, Chris Koch, Joe Koch, Liz Koch, Amy Koch, Matt Boyd, and Tony Boyd.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, a son, Joseph J. Koch, April 27, 1999, and a sister, Mary Geraldine “Gerry” Bergert.
