A retreat titled “Peace and the Rule of St. Benedict” will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 8 at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat near Wheatland. The fee is $15 and includes lunch.
Father Timothy Backous, OSB, a monk of St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville, Minn., will lead the retreat. He currently serves as headmaster at St. John’s Preparatory School. The retreat will explore how peace must come from inside a person in order for it to exist in the world. Participants will learn how to explore peace, both inner and communal, through our actions, attitudes and beliefs. The day will end with Eucharist.
