Show same zeal for unborn as for birds in oil spill

Facebooktwittermail

We live in a crazy world! Disasters are happening all around us — tornados, earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, and now the oil spill in the Gulf. Good people everywhere rush to help those in trouble.

The media are keeping us updated on the disaster in the Gulf. Brian Williams on TV said the images are heartbreaking and it is hard to watch the plight of the pelicans and other birds covered in the black oil. The birds have done nothing to deserve this. It may take years for the Gulf to recover from this spill, they say.

Compare this disaster to the disaster of abortion. It has been “legal” since 1973! Pictures of aborted babies are heartbreaking and hard to view, but instead of expressing sympathy toward these images people become outraged by seeing them on posters or displayed on the sides of a truck. The babies do not deserve to be killed.

Yes, I’m sad for the birds, marine life and the people being affected by this oil spill tragedy, but how can you compare the life of a human baby to the life a pelican? We as a people, our government and our judges, have our priorities mixed up. I would love to see our media reporting with the same zeal that they show for the current oil disaster to save the precious lives of the babies from the most horrendous disaster ever.
