Davenport — A healing Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Cathedral Friday, June 18. Confessions begin at 6 p.m., praise music at 6:45 p.m. and Mass at 7:15 p.m. All are welcome.

Davenport — A SWAP (Soaking With A Purpose), quiet prayer and worship group will meet the second and fourth Friday evenings of the month beginning at 7 p.m. June 11 and 25 at Eagles’ Wings Retreat Center, 5816 Telegraph Road. Call (563) 324-7263 for more information.

Iowa City — People meet to pray the rosary and receive Communion at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at Melrose Meadows Retirement Community. All Catholics are welcome.

Long Grove — Sister JonFe DeTorres, 36, will profess final vows as a Discalced Carmelite Sister at St. Ann Church in Long Grove during a Mass June 26 at 11 a.m. Currently a member of the Carmelite community in Eldridge, she moved there in 2006 from the Philippines. She was born in that country and became a postulant in a Carmelite community there at age 25. All are welcome to witness her profession of vows. 

Melrose — The Knights of Columbus of Albia sponsor a 24-hour adoration the first Friday of the month at St. Patrick Church in Melrose. Mass begins at 8 a.m., followed by 24 hours of adoration, and closes with benediction at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. For more information or to sign up for an hour, call Tony Humeston at (641) 932-7709.

Moline, Ill. — The Blessed John XXIII fraternity of the Secular Franciscans is hosting the presentation “Ethics, Theology & the Theology of the Corporation”  Saturday, June 26, at Sacred Heart Church. Bettendorf — A celebration of life will be held June 25 from 7-10 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Center in Bettendorf as a fundraising effort for pro-life ministries in the Quad-Cities. The “It’s Black and White” event features a silent auction, raffle, Les Fleur Shoppe, antiques, heirlooms and collectibles. Admission is $10. Clinton — Prince of Peace Parish’s Auxiliary bake sale will take place June 19-20 after all Masses in the church gathering space.

Davenport — Our Lady of Victory Parish will hold its huge rummage sale June 17-18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and June 19 from 8 a.m. to noon in the school gym at W. 42nd and Division streets. Antiques, housewares, furniture, clothes, toys, books, small applicances and more will be for sale.

Davenport — St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church will have a rummage sale in the school gym June 24-25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and June 26 from 8 a.m. to noon. Davenport — St. Anthony Parish will host a reception for Father Jack Gallagher who will be retiring at the end of the month. The reception will begin at 12:30 p.m., June 27, in the parish hall. Fr. Gallagher has been a priest for more than 30 years. During retirement he will split his time between living in Muscatine and in Florida.

Fort Madison — Southeast Iowa Catholic Singles will meet June 18 at Old Settlers Park for a concert by River City Six. Meet in the northeast section of the park for a $3 meal at 5:30 p.m. Bring a chair. Concert starts at 6 p.m. For more information, call Carol at (319) 463-5585.

Grinnell — St. Mary Parish’s picnic will take place June 19 after 4 p.m. Mass. Bring a covered dish, salad or dessert. Brats, hot dogs, beans, chips, table service, drinks and ice cream will be provided. Inflatables for kids and music will be featured.

Muscatine —  The parishioners of Ss. Mary & Mathias Parish are honoring their pastor, Father Jason Crossen, on the 10-year anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. They are celebrating with a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception at Gannon Hall, St. Mathias Church, on Saturday, June 26, from 6-8 p.m. with a program at 6:30 p.m. Fr. Crossen will be presented with special gifts from the parish, including a DVD highlighting activities from the past seven years of his time with the Muscatine Catholic Community.

Newton — The Grinnell Deanery will celebrate the end of the Year for Priests with a Mass to thank priests for their service and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of Msgr. T.J. McCann in Newton.  The Mass will take place June 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Newton. Bishop Martin Amos will preside. Social time and dinner will follow. Cost is $5 per person, payable at the door.  RSVP to the parish office at (641) 792-2050.

Welton — St. Anne Parish will celebrate its 100th anniversary June 27. Bishop Martin Amos will celebrate Mass at 10 a.m., and a parish dinner and basket raffle will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Buzzy’s in Welton.
