Davenport — The third annual Holy Hour for Fathers will be held at 8 p.m. June 28 at Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Davenport — Catholic recording artist and lay evangelist Michael John Poirier will present an evening of music, storytelling and adoration at 7 p.m. July 18 in St. Paul the Apostle Church. Fort Madison — A pro-life rosary will be recited on the first Saturday of the month, July 3, on the sidewalk opposite Planned Parenthood at 22nd St. and Ave. H after 8 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Church.

Iowa City — Centering Prayer groups meet from 7-8 p.m. Mondays at the Mercy Hospital chapel, and from 9-11:30 a.m. the fourth Saturday of each month at a member’s home. For more information, call Maureen Kelley at (319) 338-8284.

Long Grove — Sister JonFe DeTorres, 36, will profess final vows as a Discalced Carmelite Sister at St. Ann Church in Long Grove during a Mass June 26 at 11 a.m. Currently a member of the Carmelite community in Eldridge, she moved there in 2006 from the Philippines. She was born in that country and became a postulant in a Carmelite community there at age 25. All are welcome to witness her profession of vows. 

Melrose — The Knights of Columbus of Albia sponsor a 24-hour adoration the first Friday of the month at St. Patrick Church in Melrose. Mass begins at 8 a.m., followed by 24 hours of adoration, and closes with benediction at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. For more information or to sign up for an hour, call Tony Humeston at (641) 932-7709.

Moline, Ill. — The Blessed John XXIII fraternity of the Secular Franciscans is hosting the presentation “Ethics, Theology & the Theology of the Corporation”  Saturday, June 26, at Sacred Heart Church. Richmond – Little Flower Court #1181 of the National Catholic Society of Foresters is the host court for the Davenport Diocesan Association of Catholic Foresters meeting to be held at the Holy Trinity Parish Life Center on Tuesday, July 13, in Richmond.  Registration and business meeting is at 9 a.m.  Bishop Martin Amos will celebrate Mass at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  Dinner by reservation will be served at noon with a short program to follow. Bettendorf — A celebration of life will be held June 25 from 7-10 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Center in Bettendorf as a fundraising effort for pro-life ministries in the Quad-Cities. The “It’s Black and White” event features a silent auction, raffle, Les Fleur Shoppe, antiques, heirlooms and collectibles. Admission is $10. Davenport — St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church will have a rummage sale in the school gym June 24-25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and June 26 from 8 a.m. to noon. Davenport — St. Anthony Parish will host a reception for Father Jack Gallagher who will be retiring at the end of the month. The reception will begin at 12:30 p.m., June 27, in the parish hall. Fr. Gallagher has been a priest for more than 30 years. During retirement he will split his time between living in Muscatine and in Florida.

Muscatine —  The parishioners of Ss. Mary & Mathias Parish are honoring their pastor, Father Jason Crossen, on the 10-year anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. They are celebrating with a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception at Gannon Hall, St. Mathias Church, on Saturday, June 26, from 6-8 p.m. with a program at 6:30 p.m. Fr. Crossen will be presented with special gifts from the parish, including a DVD highlighting activities from the past seven years of his time with the Muscatine Catholic Community.

Newton — The Grinnell Deanery will celebrate the end of the Year for Priests with a Mass to thank priests for their service and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of Msgr. T.J. McCann in Newton. The Mass will take place June 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Newton. Bishop Martin Amos will preside. Social time and dinner will follow. Sugar Creek — Ss. Mary & Joseph Parish will hold a lawn social with a beef and pork dinner July 11 from 3-8 p.m. Cost for adults is $6.50 in advance, $7 at the door. Cost for children ages 6-12 is $4. Cost for children 5 and younger is free. Kim and Rose Strait will provide violin music and the Iowa Corn Fed Girls will perform.

Welton — St. Anne Parish will celebrate its 100th anniversary June 27. Bishop Martin Amos will celebrate Mass at 10 a.m., and a parish dinner and basket raffle will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Buzzy’s in Welton.

West Liberty — People from Huacao, Michoacan in Mexico are celebrating their patron saint, St. Bonaventure, July 11. A procession will begin at 11:30 a.m. from downtown near the bakery to St. Joseph Church. The rosary will be recited during the procession. Noon Mass will honor St. Bonaventure. After Mass, free food and drinks will be served at the fairgrounds.
