Funeral services and memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph C. Seefeldt, 76, a resident of Davenport will be 10 a.m. on Friday, July 16, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Davenport. 

Honoring his wish cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with military rites provided by American Legion Post 299.   The family will greet friends Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home where the rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. to begin the visitation.

Joe died on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Joseph Cletus Seefeldt was born July 31, 1933 in Davenport, the son of Carl and Amelia (Blazer) Seefeldt. He proudly served our country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Judith Harrison, Aug. 12, 1961 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport.

After receiving a degree in accounting, Joe worked 47 years for the Mel Foster Co. as a Realtor retiring in 2009.  Joe was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Board of Realtors in Greater Davenport, Oakwood Country Club and a former member of the Davenport Jaycee’s and of the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club.  

Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years Judy, and their children and spouses and grandchildren, David (Kim) Seefeldt, Samantha, Sydney Rose and Sienna, San Clemente, CA, Elizabeth (Greg) Weber, Quinn, Alexis and Elizabeth, Davenport, Paul (Lori) Seefeldt, Hope and Joshua, Long Grove, Iowa; Jeffrey Seefeldt, Bettendorf; three sisters, Mary Gabrilson, Rose (Don) Allard, all of Davenport, and Isabelle Beckman, Beaverton, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.
