Memorial services for Kevin M. Carstens, 48, a resident of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug.3, 2010 at Park View Lutheran Church, 14 Grove Road, Park View.  

Private burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park at a later date.  All are invited to attend a memorial Mass at 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, 2010 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Long Grove. Kevin’s family will greet friends following the Mass Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Ann’s. 

Kevin died Monday, July 26, 2010 in Burlington, Iowa. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Kevin Mark Carstens was born Sept. 1, 1961 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Eugene W. and June E. (Blumer) Carstens. Kevin had been married to Tracy Mirfield. He was employed with TPC for over 24 years. Kevin enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts, coaching with the Donahue Sportsmen and was active with the Park View Lutheran Church, but Kevin’s passion was training and working with horses.

Survivors include his children, two daughters, Ashley Carstens, Madison, Wis., and Laura Carstens, Long Grove; his son, Josh Carstens, Davenport; three sisters, Tina (Dean) Ganzer, Donahue, Lynn (Kevin) Kroeger, Eldridge, and Debra (Bernie) Heidgerken, Long Grove;  his six brothers, Gene (Sharon) Carstens, Jr., Blue Grass, Ronald (Noreen) Carstens, Gahanna, Ohio, Timothy (Barb) Carstens, Bettendorf, David (LuAnn) Carstens, Long Grove, Gregory Carstens, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Matthew (Michelle) Carstens, Eldridge; as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
