Sale to benefit housing program

DAVENPORT — Humility of Mary Housing is holding a “fresh start” benefit sale Aug. 17-20 at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. Schedule is Tuesday, Aug. 17, from 6-8:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Aug. 18, and Thursday, Aug. 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Friday, Aug. 20, from 8 a.m. to noon. There will be an entrance fee of $8 only on opening night, Aug. 17.

Humility of Mary Housing, Inc., is a transitional and permanent supportive housing program that gives single-parent families experiencing homelessness opportunities that could result in self-sufficient living. Sale proceeds will directly benefit these families.

Donations of lightly used household items, including furniture and appliances (no clothing), can be taken to 2906 Brady St., just west of Life’s Little Treasures. Items can be dropped off Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Aug. 12.
