The spring of 2010 proved to be very successful athletically at Holy Trinity!

The school had three state visits; students Colby Hoyer and Tracy Older qualified for the tennis state tournament in doubles, placing second at regionals. To achieve this feat, the students played 92 games of tennis, including two tiebreakers, all in one day!

Students Sean Conrad and Cody Mehmert were selected to race at the Iowa Track and Cross Country Coaches Senior All-Star Meet along with Jamie Kokjohn. Sean and Cody also qualified for the state cross country meet in May.

The HTC varsity boys’ soccer team made it all the way to the state championship game against Iowa City Regina. It was a hard-fought match and took almost the entire second overtime period before a Regina player found the back of the net to end the game.

Holy Trinity is very proud of the boys for their efforts, but perhaps even more importantly, their behavior at the tournament was exemplary. Scorekeepers, officials and opposing fans all commented about the respectful and courteous behavior of the Holy Trinity players. What a great testament to the kids and school — 2010 Class 1A state soccer runner-up.
