Father Botkin golf tournament set

MAQUOKETA — The fifth annual Father Botkin Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Sept. 12 (rain date is Sept. 19). The four-person best-shot tournament is open to all and will take place at the Prairie Creek Golf Course in Maquoketa. There will be a flight competition for competitors and beginners. Shotgun start is at 12:30 p.m.

The $40 entry fee includes nine holes of golf, half a cart, meal and qualification for prizes. Hole sponsors may pay $60 for a meal and  advertisement on a hole, or $75 for a meal, golf and an advertisement on a hole.

The meal will be served at Grossman Hall in Delmar from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Menu includes a butterfly pork chop sandwich, chips, fruit, dessert and drink for $7. A hamburger meal for children 12 and younger costs $4. A kids’ mini-golf game will take place at the hall.
