Jesus chose male apostles

Referring to the Aug. 26 Catholic Messenger letter titled: “To Church, women are ‘second-class.’” What? Women are second-class citizens because they cannot be priests? That’s like saying men are second-class citizens because they cannot give birth.

All through the Bible I find that a priest is a male figure. Likewise, a mother, or a nun, is a female figure. Wishing for the impossible is a waste of mental power. Is the Catholic Church like a theater where anything goes?

So, Jeff Knox, calm your fears because the Catholic Church — headed by Jesus Christ who chose men to be his apostles —will never ordain women priests. What a blessing!
