Sister Carol Bartlett, BVM

DUBUQUE — Sister Carol Bartlett, BVM, 96, died Sept. 24 at the BVM Center at Mount Carmel.

She was born in Cuba City, Wis.. She entered the Sisters of Charity, BVM congregation on Sept. 8, 1934,and professed first vows on March 19, 1937, and final vows on Aug. 15, 1942.

In the Diocese of Davenport, Sr. Bartlett was teacher, principal and superior of both the high school and grade school at St. Patrick in Iowa City from 1953–58. Also in Iowa, she taught in Fort Dodge and Sioux City, and was superior and principal in Waterloo. She was a teacher or superior/principal in Chicago, Arizona, Kansas and California. She was parish minister, director of religious education, tutor or teacher aide, and parish secretary in Phoenix, Ariz. 

A funeral was scheduled for Sept. 29. Burial was to be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dubuque.
