Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Waldo O.“Wally” Voss, 83, a resident of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. 

Visitation will be prior to the services on Friday from 9-10 a.m. in the gathering space at church.  Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Wally died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at his home in Davenport, after a brief illness.

Waldo Otto Voss was born June 20, 1927, in rural Scott County, the son of Otto C.M.  and Bertha  (Paustian) Voss. He was united in marriage to Phyllis M. DeLeu June 3, 1978 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Davenport

Wally proudly served our country in the Korean War as an infantryman in the U.S. Army. He retired from Alcoa on July 1, 1989 after 36 years of service. He enjoyed educational reading, gardening and sports.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Church or Diabetes Center of the Quad Cities, 2810 State St., Bettendorf, IA 52722.

Survivors include a son, Chuck DeLeu, Bothell, Wash.; a sister Dorothy M. Titus, Durant, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wally was preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis, sisters Pearl Voss, Valeria Elder and Norma Woods, and brothers Loraine Voss and Raymond Voss.
