Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Esther B. Hart, 97, a resident of the Kahl Home, Davenport, will be 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 at the Kahl Home for the Aged.

Burial will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will follow the service. Mrs. Hart died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2010 at the Kahl Home. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Esther B. Delp was born on Aug. 14, 1913 in Fairfield, Iowa, a daughter of Jay C. and Emma (Dencker) Delp. She was united in marriage to James J. Hart on Aug. 26, 1944 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1985.

Esther worked as a dental assistant with Dr. Shriver for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling and bingo. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Esther is survived by her sisters, Duretta Abbott, Martha Schuler, both of Davenport, and Mary Coffman, Exline, IA; a sister-in-law, Viola Delp, Davenport, a nephew, Ron (Karen) Delp, Coal Valley, IA; and many other nieces and nephews.
