October is the month of the rosary. Dee Harkins, formerly of Davenport, is trying to get young Catholics to pray the rosary.
She is the president of the Kansas City St. Joseph Diocesan Division World Apostolate of Fatima and a good friend of mine. We attended the Eucharistic Congress in Philadelphia in 1976. At midnight in the John F. Kennedy Stadium we sat under the stars for an all-night vigil held by the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima. What a blessing!
After this wonderful experience, we came home determined to promote the rosary as Our Lady of Fatima requested: for peace in the world, pray the rosary.
Do we have peace? Are Catholics praying the rosary? Did we give up trying to promote it? Were our pastors behind our efforts?
