Shoes sought for people in need

DAVENPORT — Fourth-graders at All Saints Catholic School continue their fall tradition of collecting shoes for people in need.

Their slogan is “Shoes for the shoeless.” The students collect new or gently used shoes during October and November at the school and then deliver them to three businesses or other organizations that distribute the shoes for free or at a low price.

In addition to accepting “used nicely shoes,” the students also will collect new, packaged socks which are distributed to the Salvation Army, Disabled American Veterans Store and Friendly House in Davenport. Please drop off shoes and socks during school hours at 1926 Marquette St.
