Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Anne M. Freund, 97, a resident of Cincinnati, formerly of Decatur, Ga., and Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 9:15-10 a.m.

The Halligan – McCabe – DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Freund died on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at Brookwood Retirement Center, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Anne M. Wafer was born April 27, 1913 in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of William J. and Hilda (Abrahamson) Wafer. She was united in marriage to Harold F. Freund on Sept. 2, 1939 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

She was a former member of the Elks Auxiliary and Holy Family Church. Anne enjoyed playing cards and was an avid Bridge player.

Memorials can be made to the church.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Freund, Cincinnati; a son, David Freund, Cincinnati and a grandson, John Michael Freund; a sister, Mary Freund, Davenport; a brother, Thomas Wafer, Davenport, and a sister-in-law, Helen Wafer, Davenport; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Anne was preceded in death by siblings, Katherine; James William; Elizabeth Jane, John Joseph “Jack”; Richard Paul “Dick” Wafer. May they rest in peace.
