Private family graveside services for Jeff M. Dettman, 55, a resident of Long Grove, will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. In keeping with Jeff’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded and no visitation will be held. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Jeff died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf, after a brief illness.
Jeffrey Mark Dettman was born Aug. 16, 1955, in Davenport, the son of Raymond G. and Mary Lou (Zielinski) Dettman. He graduated from Davenport West High School in 1973.
Jeff was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Foley Construction Co. He was a member of Local 150 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Janice Dettman, Blue Grass, several cousins and many special and dear friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Karen Pauly, and a nephew, Derek Dettman. May they rest in peace.
