The Diocese of Davenport receives the major portion of its financial support from the Annual Diocesan Appeal (ADA). Through their donations, parishioners make it possible for the diocese to offer a variety of services.

You may have made a donation to the diocesan capital campaign Moving Forward in Faith and Hope in recent months.  The monies from this campaign fund present and future needs of the diocese. Income from these donations will help to keep the parish ADA goal from increasing as rapidly in the future.

Parishes are encouraging their parishioners to make a pledge to this year’s Annual Diocesan Appeal. A wide participation is needed in order for the diocese to continue its services.

These services include preparing our seminarians and deacon candidates for parish ministry; promoting vocations throughout the diocese; providing for the Rite of Election and the Chrism Mass; conducting the Ministry Formation Program; providing training for the new Roman Missal; organizing youth rallies, retreats, Christian Leadership Institute, NET, Catholics in Action and National Catholic Youth  Conference for our youth; and promoting safe environments in our schools and parishes through the Protecting God’s Children program.

Our diocesan school superintendent, Lee Morrison, promotes Catholic education and works with schools to meet standards and fulfill requirements for a strong academic program.

To learn more about the diocesan staff and what they do, you can view the Annual Diocesan Appeal video at www.davenportdiocese.org. If you wish to speak with someone about the ADA contact me at (563) 324-1911 or goedken@davenportdiocese.org.

Please take time to complete your pledge envelope in your parish. Thank you for your continued generosity to the diocese and to our parishes and schools. This is all the work of God in our lives. As a diocese, our mission is to be a eucharistic community as we live out Jesus’ call to go and make disciples of all nations and love God and neighbor. Help us fulfill our mission.
