Clinton — A special votive Mass of the Blessed Virgin Mary preceded by a rosary meditation on the people of Peru will be celebrated Nov. 18 in Prince of Peace Church. The Clinton parish will celebrate the Feast of La Virgin Pura y Limpia (Virgin Most Pure), the patron feast of their sister parish in Sapillica, Peru, beginning at 4:15 p.m. with the rosary, followed by Mass at 5:30 pm. Thursday’s religious celebration will be followed on the weekend, Nov. 20-21, by a sale of handmade Peruvian craft items following the Masses at 5 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Davenport — A SWAP (Soaking With A Purpose), quiet prayer and worship group will meet Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at Eagles’ Wings Retreat Center, 5816 Telegraph Road. Call (563) 324-7263 for more information.

RETREATS

Blue Grass — A Centering Prayer Advent retreat will take place at St. Andrew Church, 333 W. Lotte St., Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The retreat is for people with experience in Centering Prayer. Davenport — Christmas decorations, holiday gift items and holiday clothing for the family are available at Cinderella Cellar, 230 W. 35th St. The store is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Proceeds benefit the Kahl Home for the Aged and Infirm. Cinderella Cellar is operated by volunteers from the Catholic Service Board.

Fort Madison — The old-fashioned Christmas/holiday bazaar will be held Nov. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at McAleer Hall. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will consist of potato, chicken noodle and gourmet vegetable soups, as well as hot beef sandwiches and desserts. There will be a raffle, craft booth, baked goods booth and bingo.

Iowa City — Knights of Columbus will offer dinners from 5-7 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month through November at the KC Family Center, 4776 American Legion Road. For more information, e-mail kofc842@gmail.com or call (319) 341-9097. Carryouts are available.

Muscatine — Items from Work of Human Hands, a Catholic Relief Services Fair Trade program, will be sold at Gannon Hall at St. Mathias Church Nov. 21 from 1-3 p.m. The sale of unique gifts, housewares and jewelry will help families around the world.
