Catholic Foundation donors to get information on 2010 tax law

Facebooktwittermail

The new tax law passed in December affects anyone who pays taxes. It extends income tax rates, makes changes in transfer tax law regarding gift tax, estate tax and generation-skipping tax.

A summary of this new legislation is being inserted with the tax letter for donors to the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Davenport during 2010. This summary includes tax law changes and gives suggestions for those who are planning their estates or are responsible for administering the estate or trust of a person who dies in 2010, 2011 or 2012.

The tax letter, being mailed on Jan. 20, is a summary of your donations to the Catholic Foundation during the calendar year 2010.

If you are not receiving a tax letter, please contact Sister Laura Goedken, OP, the diocese’s director of development, for a copy of the tax law insert. Also contact Sr. Goedken with any questions about your donations or the new tax law.
