Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Anne Duncombe, 86, a resident of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport.

Private burial services will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be Monday, from 4-7 p.m. at the Halligan – McCabe – DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main St., Davenport; where a rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Duncombe died Friday Jan. 14, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park.  

Mary Anne Getreu was born Aug. 29, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of Leo and Agnes (Kaiser) Getreu. She was united in marriage to Andrew M. Duncombe on June 26, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio. He preceded her in death May 9, 1993.

She had worked 16 years at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Davenport, retiring in 1989.

 In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials can be made to either Holy Family Catholic Church or a favorite charity of your choice.

Survivors include her nine children: her four daughters;  Catherine Roberts-Graves, LaCrosse, WI, Rosanne Duncombe-Elliott, Davenport, Patricia Porter, Cedar Rapids, and Roberta Mayfield, Davenport; her five sons, Daniel Duncombe, Aurora, IL, David Duncombe, Davenport, Michael Duncombe, Silvis, John Duncombe, and Timothy Duncombe both of Davenport; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; two brothers, James and Thomas Getreu, Columbus, OH,  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Andrew, her brother Dan and sister, Rose Galutia.
