DAVENPORT — Students from All Saints Catholic School were honored for their entries in two contests with the Catholic Schools Week theme of “A+ for America.”

Elise Ward, art instructor at the school, said seventh-graders participated in a Catholic schools poster contest featuring artwork for the four Davenport parishes that support All Saints. The winners were Stan Oxendine, Justin Roemer, Bridget Schnell and Cameron Sturdevant. Their winning posters were sent to the parishes: Holy Family, Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Alphonsus and St. Anthony. The school also sent thank-you notes to the parishes for supporting All Saints.

During an assembly for fifth- and sixth-graders on Jan. 31, Western Catholic Union winners were announced. Steve Looten, Western Catholic Union fraternal director in Quincy, Ill., presented T-shirts and certificates to all students.

Fifth-grade winners, who also received gift cards, were Vy Dinh, Annie Argo, Cassidy Dyne, Julie Oxendine and Aivy Nguyen.  Sixth-grade winners were Elizabeth Fennelly, Gabrielle Simpson, Jonathan Underwood, Sarah Huber and Luke Fennelly.
