Helping the Church in Central and Eastern Europe

Your attention is called to the Collection to Aid the Catholic Church in Central and Eastern Europe to be taken up on Ash Wednesday, March 9.

Because of the continued need of the Catholic Church in Central and Eastern Europe, the Bishops of the United States asked us to again extend the opportunity for the people of the United States to aid them.

The theme for the 2011 collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe is “Great Needs Remain.” The Church in this region continues to have great needs for its essential pastoral work. Your donations invest in future generations of Catholics:  a gift of faith to the future.

Through this collection and with a love that brings radiant light, Catholics in the United States help the Catholic Church in Central and Eastern Europe to build parishes in many distant, unknown places. Your generous donations support seminaries, social service programs, youth ministry, pastoral centers, schools, church construction and renovation and the spreading of the Gospel message through the mass media.

Please give your support to the Collection to Aid the Catholic Church in Central and Eastern Europe where great needs remain and share the hope and freedom that we have been privileged to enjoy in this country. Thank you on behalf of the many hopeful individuals and struggling communities in Central and Eastern Europe who benefit from your efforts and assistance.
