WASHINGTON — Father Troy Richmond and Father Bill Kneemiller will be hosting a two-part “Life in the Spirit” seminar Saturday, April 2 and 9 at St. James Parish Hall. The seminar will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude with a lunch at 12:45 pm.

Fr. Richmond, St. James’ pastor, said that these two sessions are designed to help Catholics experience the gifts and graces of the Holy Spirit.  The theme April 2 is “Preparing our Hearts,” with an emphasis on removing obstacles that keep people from experiencing God’s love. This session is on our need for repentance, reconciliation and humility to prepare for the reception of gifts. Session two is on the practical request and reception of the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit: “The fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (Galatians 5:22).

The fee for each day is $15, which covers coffee and rolls and a sub sandwich meal. Full and partial scholarships are available. For more information, call (319) 679-2271.
