Wallace Ervin Weiss, 87, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Burlington, Iowa, died Feb. 22, 2011.
The memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on April 1, 2011, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Burlington. Interment with honors will be at 4 p.m., graveside at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Burlington.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Rawson of Edwardsville, Ill.; son, Kevin Weiss of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Carol Ann Gruendl of Sarasota, Fla.; brothers, Jim Weiss of Burlington, Robert Weiss of Reno, Nev. and Richard Weiss of Burlington; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his son, David Weiss.
Wallace was a Private First Class in World War II and Bronze Star recipient in the U.S. Army. He was also a volunteer for Venice Regional Medical Center in Venice, Fla.
